ARAFAH DAY

We will be observing the fasting of the day of Arafah, Thursday, July 30, as Prophet PBUH taught us about its great reward:

"صيام يوم عرفة، أحتسب على الله أن يكفر السنة الماضية والقابلة" رواه الإمام مسلم

(Fasting of the Arafah day, would wash out sins of (two years), previous and coming ones).

QURBANI / SACRIFICE:

We follow the Sunnah/footsteps of our grandfather, Prophet Ibrahim (Khalil ul Allah) PBUH

Prophet PBUH firmly taught us:
"من وجد سعة، ولم يضحّي، فلا يقربن مصلانا"

(Who could afford to sacrifice, but chooses not to, should not come to our (Eid) prayer).

We’ve learned from the scholars of Sahabah RA:
Those who have to pay Zakah, it’s Wajib upon them to sacrifice

According to the majority of scholars, the head of the household would do the sacrifice/Qurbani for himself or herself and on behalf of the whole family members

Please call the Masjid at (904) 646-3462 or Br.Ayub at (904) 874-5866 or pay online to pay for a cow, sheep, or goat share, it will be distributed locally to the needy Muslim community. Those who will sacrifice, should not cut their nails or hair until they sacrifice starting TODAY after Maghrib prayer. This is a SUNNAH of Prophet peace be upon him.

$250 for Cow share

$300 for lamb or goat share

TAKBEERAT

اللهُ أكبر، اللهُ أكبر، لا إلٰه إلا الله، والله أكبر، الله أكبر وللهِ الحمد
(ALLAHU AKBAR, ALLAHU AKBAR, LA ILAHA ILLA ALLAH
ALLAHU AKBAR, ALLAHU AKBAR WA LILLAHIL HAMD)

We say these Takbeerat out loud stating from the Fajr of 9th Zul Hijjah (day of Arafah), until the end of day 13th of Zul Hijjah (as last Hajji leaves Mina and complete their Hajj), we say it specifically after each Salah, entering n existing our houses, and whenever we remember them.
