Salam Alaikum
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
“There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” They said: “Not even striving in the path of Allah?” He said: “Not even striving in the path of Allah, unless a man goes out himself striving [in the path of Allah] taking his wealth with him and does not come back with anything.” [Bukhari, 2/457]
Friday, October 28th is the first day of Dhul-Hijja, therefore we will fast the day of Arafah on Saturday Nov. 5th.
The Prophet said: “Fast the Day of Arafah; it will expiate the sins committed in the previous and the coming year.”
Eid al-Adhaa will be on the Sunday the 6th of November.
The activities for these 10 days are as follows:
- Fri. Oct. 28 – 1/12: Virtue of the Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah
- Sat. Oct. 29 – 2/12: Renewing our lives in these ten days
- Sun. Oct. 30 – 3/12: Remembrance (Dhikr) in these ten days
- Mon. Oct. 31- 4/12: Benefits of Recitation of Quran
- Tues. Nov. 01- 5/12: Inner dimensions of Salat (Prayer)
- Wed. Nov. 02- 6/12: Rules of Udhiyah – Qurbani (1)
- Thurs. Nov. 03- 7/12: Rules of Udhiyah – Qurbani (2)
- Fri. Nov. 04- 8/12: Virtues of Fasting Arafah
- Sat. Nov. 05- 9/12: Eid al-Adhaa, its significance and how to perform it.
- Sun. Nov. 06- 10/12: The Day of Eid
