Hafiz Mehmood from Egypt

Listen to the beautiful recitation of the holy Quran by Sheikh Hafiz Mehmood visiting us from Egypt. Recorded in ICNEF. Hafiz Mehmood will also be leading the daily prayers and the Taraweeh prayers in the month of Ramadan, Insha Allah.

The prominent scholar Dr. Reda Bedeir is with us as a Visiting Scholar for the next two months, insha Allah. During his stay here, Dr. Bedeir will conduct educational programs, deliver Khutbas on Fridays and at the Salatul Eid-al-Fitr, insha Allah.

Message from the Imam

AsSalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh السلام عليكم ورحمة الله بركاته

Allah says (Quran 58:11): “.. يَرْفَعِ اللهُ الَّذِيْنَ آمَنُوْا مِنْكُمْ وَالَّذِيْنَ أُوْتُوا الْعِلْمَ دَرَجَاتٍ..”

“.. Allah will elevate those amongst you who believe and those given knowledge to many levels..”

The believer is the one who never ceases to seek knowledge. We ask Allah to help us increase our knowledge. Allah says (Quran 20:114):

“And say Lord increase me in knowledge…” “.. وَقُل رَّبِّ زِدْنِيْ عِلْماً”

Summer is over and our children will be returning to their schools and universities to seek knowledge. Most of the knowledge that they will acquire there will be geared towards their professional goals and understanding the world we live in. That is very important and I pray that Allah keeps them safe and focused and help them to achieve success in this life and the next. No less important, perhaps more so, is that we and our family also continue to seek knowledge of our Deen. It is only those who know Allah that truly fear and revere Him. In Sha Allah, I will be offering a series of classes on various Islamic topics. There are no fees for these classes but please register before they start. I am hoping for registration for all but the open classes as it creates a certain amount of commitment from the students towards the class.

The following is a list of weekly classes and sessions starting fromWednesday, August 20th, 2014 In Sha Allah:

Please do not forget to register your children for AlFurqan Academy, the Saturday or Sunday classes via the administration for those schools. In Sha Allah, I will be teaching in both the Saturday and Sunday school and also interacting with the children or AlFurqan Academy.

Please email me ( to register for my classes.
